Smallmouth, largemouth & walleye are the “go to fish” for the rest of the month. Smallmouth are on the edges in cover and broken ledges. Largemouth are close by and by next week we will see some of the bigger fish in 15-20″ range. You will find Walleye while fishing for Smallmouth and Largemouth. Had an exceptional day with guests from CT and MI. My CT Guests were pursing stripers but stripers had gone deep due to the cold fronts so we readjusted to fishing Read More +

Lake Powell April Fishing Tip April 4, 2015

Dear Anglers, My tip for fly fishing (#flyfishing) stripers in back of canyons at Lake Powell.  I like a fast 7-8 wt. rod wit a fast sink 15′ sink tip, 4′ leader and 15 lb. tippet and 3″ crawfish flies with chartreuse and white clauser flies.  If the stripers are feeding, you want a fast retrieval and a tarpon set (scissor set) and watch that rod tip when your landing so not to high stick the rod tip. Tight lines, Capt. Bill

Lake Powell Fishing Report Spring Forecast by Capt. Bill

Dear Anglers, Positive feed back from our fishing biologist which is very promising with the abundance of bait fish this Winter.  Whatever style of angling, beginner, semi pro-fly fishermen, bait cast, spin or trolling Spring should provide great angling opportunities.  Our newest boat a 26′ triton that cruises 25knots is rigged for that Spring Lake Powell trip of a lifetime. Current Winter angling is a 50/50 proposition but offers an experience like no other with little or zero boat traffico n the water (weather permitting Read More +

Lake Powell Fishing Report by Wayne Gustaveson 6-17-14

Photo Caption: Adam Jones and Deborah Williams found a trophy striper thrashing on the surface near Warm Creek. They tried to save the fish but it died due to post spawning stress. It was then turned over to Utah Wildlife resulting in the discovery of many interesting facts about trophy stripers in Lake Powell.   Early Saturday morning, June 14, a call came stating a big striper had just been caught at the mouth of Warm Creek. It took about 20 minutes to get there Read More +
