Lake Powell Striper Fishing January 2017

Dear Anglers,

Winter is setting in and the striper fishing has remained good with trolling, casting and fly fishing too.  What is good?  Well somedays a few to dozens using your favorite way to fish.  Either way it is all artificial as bait will not be for some time.  I would look for March or until April.  It is hard to say as weather dictates it all anyway.

Spring is booking up early and that is good news as that is what keeps a guide service afloat (office) during the down times to catching fish with clients.  Bill is hoping to guide until he is 75 as a goal and who knows, maybe further if his if his “level wind” does not give out on him.

The 25’ Pontoon boat has been a good tool for him and a lot of his friends or clients of 25+years.  He is still wanting a Center Console though and is working on that was we speak.  He feels it is a better boat for those longer way out runs that get requested for especially the “fly fishermen”.

The ½ day Chargers were good last year as Bill had over 20 schools market within 15 miles of launch and that takes him all of March to locate usually so he can always put the fisher people on fish within 30 minutes of launch.  He can’t 100% make them bite, but not one day last years was anyone skunked either.

We ran our special for Christmas which was very popular by offering 4 Anglers full day for $550.00.  It was a buy now and book anytime in 2017 (depending on available dates).  We will be raising our additional angler rates will be increasing this year. We currently have those at $50 each additional but will be rising to $60 with increase in gas prices this year.  If you didn’t take advantage of the great savings on the special ($100) I will honor the special until my Web administrator changes them and that will be any day.  So just give me a call and I will honor it.

We are excited with the numbers staying high for this new year and hope everyone had a terrific New Year and will have a chance to fish Lake Powell.  We wish you all peace and great prosperity and good health to all.

Tight lines or loose drags,

Judy & Bill
