Lake Powell Fishing Report September 30, 2019

Lake Powell Fishing Report 9-30-19

“It’s on the fringe” but for the fish that are stuffed to the gills they are pretty fussy. We are watching 1 day on boils only if they get hungry. If after boiling activity, trolling activity will produce more fat fish and I mean “fat”.

Smallmouth are mixed in with the boils and are the 1-3 lb. fish. A 2lb. smallmouth will pull a 2lb. striper backwards and they are fighters as well.

September Fishing is rated 50/50 depending on the luck factor. Fly fishing will be awesome up till January 2020 I am thinking once everything clicks environmentally.

I moved some guests to October and glad we did. With cooler temps, things should start popping for us. I am recommending clausers and zara spooks – that should do it.

Tight lines,

Capt. Bill
