Lake Powell Fly & Conventional Fishing Update
Fly fishing and conventional fishing are still going strong at Lake Powell. Water temps are holding in the 60s, keeping the bite zone active. On sunny days, focus on the many islands and sand bars where Stripers and Smallmouth push baitfish up—prime spots to find fish feeding.
Your best window has been 10 AM to 3 PM. It’s Clouser time, but honestly, anything will work when the fish are on shad. Watch for birds and bait to dial in the zone, especially if the weather is overcast.
We’ve had an unusually warm winter, and I’ve been out solo a couple of times this past week on the fly rod—wanted to share the good news with you!
