Either fly The lake has very little traffic and you can explore “hunt” the backs of all the coves and canyons. The chance for a “whopper” has increased. Bigger stripers are on the feed and you can graph schools of bait fish close by when stripers are fat. 5-6 lb fish are the norm and fly fishing over chum is promising in the Main Channel on Lake Powell holding fish on points and shelves bordering deep water 300-400 ft. plus. My Catch – 7 of the 15 and nothing under 5 lbs. The Juvenile stripers on top at Lake Powell. Early morning and evenings . The 5+ pounders are below 20-40′ and the bigger ones yet somewhere in the mix of the bigger fish. Each day brings a different approach to things especially with water temps, cloud cover, wind and sun as everything effects the feeding pattern.
